Ship Thieves "He Lost His Head" from "Irruption"

SHIP THIEVES
"He Lost His Head" advance track from "Irruption" LP
Chunksaah Records
Released: March 12, 2021

These pre-order vinyl versions are already sold out. I see this more and more. If you want the vinyl, you either have to keep hoping they will press future variants or continually follow your favorite labels. I missed out. D'oh.

If you don't know Ship Thieves, check out their 2016 release, "No Anchor" on No Idea Records. A great record. Give it a listen here:

Ship Thieves is instantly familiar with Chris Wollard's (Hot Water Music) distinctly dusty, dry and borderline hoarse vocal style. So far the band has given the world a sneak preview of what the new LP "Irruption" has in store with the track "He Lost His Head". Listen here:

I will be anxiously awaiting a future vinyl variant (fingers crossed) and March 12, when "Irruption" is released!

Cheers,

FOE

Wolves Attack!! Rest in Piss

WOLVES ATTACK!!
"Rest in Piss"
Horror Pain Gore Death Productions
Released: January 29, 2021

Wolves Attack!! are from Philly. I love Philly. I miss going to live shows in Philly.

My post pandemic bucket list includes seeing Wolves Attack!! live.

"Rest in Piss" includes six blasts that sounds like a Ringworm fronted Municipal Waste mashup. All songs are driving, intense and impassioned, fueled with the objective of going full force, releasing, cleansing and exhausting the demons. That's some good fun!! The fact that Wolves Attack!! captured this feeling on these recordings only makes me want to witness the live show more!!

Brilliant cover of Misfits "We Bite".

Give this a listen. So good. Listened to this over and over and over!!

Consider this a formal request that someone release this on piss colored vinyl. I would buy that.

BATTALION ZOSKA
"Nobody's Scared" (Demo)

Released: February 2, 2021

There are not many people who know more about punk than Pat Society. I am lucky enough to have known him for a very long time. Back when people traded tapes, I'll never forget the EATER tape he made and mailed me. I ended up finding all of that EATER on vinyl over the years.

My point, I don't know many punks in bands who would even know to cover "Nobody's Scared" by Subway Sect, never mind know the song or the band. Pat knows.

Pat says, “Hey a little taste of paying homage to one of the original punk bands. Its free if you want it... respects to Vic Godard for his permission.” Side note, I can confirm that Jim the Roadie (guitarist) is another who knows more about punk than I.

Philly's Battalion Zoska do a spot on version, capturing the brooding sound and delivery.
Check it out. It is free.

And if you don't know the original, check that out too! Lyrics from 1978 still haunt.

EVERYONE IS A PROSTITUTE SINGING A SONG IN PRISON.
MORAL STANDARDS THE WALLPAPER. THE WALL IS A BAD RELIGION.
MEDIA TEACH ME WHAT TO SPEAK. TAKE MY DECISIONS.
IT'S HOW TO FIND YOUR INNER-SELF TIME ON THE TELEVISION.

NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE FOR. NO ONE EVEN CARES.
WE SHOUT PUBLICITY HAND-OUTS. NOBODY'S SCARED.

THE LANGUAGE WE USE, IS IT WHAT WE WANT?
DOES IT NOT PROJECT THE FALSE?
SUBJECT TO OBJECTS JOURNEYS MEAN THAT A WORD LOSES COURSE.
WE'RE TALKING IN CLICHES. BETRAY YOURSELF FOR MONEY.
HAVING IS MORE THAN BEING NOW. NOBODY'S SORRY.
NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE FOR. NO ONE EVEN CARES.
WE SHOUT PUBLICITY HAND-OUTS. NOBODY'S SCARED.

Arik Victor: Guitar
Jim The Roadie: Guitar

EYEHATEGOD
"Fake What's Yours"
Advance track from
"A HISTORY OF NOMADIC BEHAVIOR"
Century Media Records
 Release date: March 9, 2021
Century Media and EyeHateGod have released the track "Fake What's Yours" as the pre-orders for "A History of Nomadic Behavior" have gone live.

EHG are one of my favorite live bands. Always devastating, brutal, cathartic. I've got my pre-order in!

I can't believe it has been seven years since their last album. I think I've seen them live three times since then. Love this band. One of my radio partners, Johnny Generic, used to always get bunched up when I would play EyeHateGod on the radio. He couldn't believe I'd say that on the radio. Of course some of that was our give and take fun on our shows as well. RIP Johnny Generic. I think of you every time I listen to EHG.

Cheers,
FOE

Terror "Sink To Hell"

💀 ðŸ’€ ðŸ’€ ðŸ’€ ðŸ’€ ðŸ’€ ðŸ’€ ðŸ’€ ðŸ’€
TERROR
"Sink To Hell"
War Records
 Released: December 2, 2020
Terror is one of the most energetic live hardcore bands in existence today. A blood boiling, chill inducing live band. Hopefully, after the pandemic, I'll have the chance to see them again. Last time I saw them was at the sold out, Alone In A Crowd benefit for Howie in Philadelphia.

Terror lived up to their name and live reputation that night, with vocalist Scott hyping the pit into a violent frenzy. That pit lived up to the Terror name as well. One of the most ungodly pits I've seen in a long time. We're not talking showing off your bruises from the pit the next day kind of action I grew up participating in during the early 1980s. This was that windmill, karate kicking, backward punch throwing brutality where participants got legit hurt. I kept my old man bod two deep along the pit wall. I still love being close to the action, just don't need any more surgeries!

Terror's brand of forthright, in your face, brutal hardcore may sound East Coast, but they are actually based in Los Angeles. No pop punk, no Fat drumming, no ska, no crust, no anarcho influence... Straight up punishing hardcore. I think Scott is from Buffalo NY originally, so he must have taken some of that East Coast out West.

These four tracks, available digitally and pressed on the preferred 7" vinyl format straight up rip and fit together beautifully. “Sink To The Hell” and “The New Beginning” are from the 2013 "Live By The Code" sessions. “Don’t Need Your Time” is from the 2010 Keepers Of The Faith demo sessions – with new vocals recorded in 2020 to complete the track and featuring Jesse Barnett of Stick To Your Guns. “You Lost All Respect” is also from the Keepers Of The Faith demo sessions with updated drums, additional guitars, and vocals.

All previously unreleased. All classic hardcore.

"Don't Need Your Time"
lyrics
(feat. Jesse Barnett)

Never asked for any of this
To watch those opinions
What makes you think you are the one
Been going on instinct

Keep your thoughts out of my head
Nothing's adding up
Nothing's making sense
Keep your words out of my mind
I never wanted it
I don't need your time

So now you think it's all in check
You've locked this world back in
But it's all such a fucking mess

Keep your thoughts out of my head
Nothing's adding up
Nothing's making sense
Keep your words out of my mind
I never wanted it
I don't need your time
To decide

For the last time
I followed blind

For the last time
I followed blind

Into the bitter end
I was blinded by you
Down to my last resistance
What was true, I never knew

"The New Beginning"
lyrics

You talk about the meaning, the message
You don't get it!
You came, you left us
So just forget us!
Nothing's held sacred
But because our money's green
These frauds come running back
And shit on our scene!

You just wanna be someone
You want the world to see
You just gotta be something
But when you're dead you stay dead to me

The message
You don't get it!
You came, you left us
So just forget us!
A disgrace to yourself
And all you claim to be
You wore your welcome out
It's just a shame that more don't see

You just wanna be someone
You want the world to see
You just gotta be something
But when you're dead you stay dead to me

Don't try to act like you're still a part of something
We know you're only here to fill your empty pockets
Don't try to preach to me about the old days
Because I was there, and I'm still here

You talk about the music, the message
You don't get it
You talk about the music, the message
You don't get it
You just wanna be something
You just wanna be someone

"Sink To Hell" is no throwaway. A titan of a 7" brought to light during the darkness of the pandemic!

Cheers,
FOE

Edward Scissorhands Soundtrack
30 Year Anniversary Edition
Waxwork Records
 Released: January, 2021

I love soundtracks.
I love vinyl.
I love Danny Elfman.
I love this movie featuring Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder (such a crush on her way back when) and Vincent Price.
I love the amazing packaging and effort Waxwork Records puts in to their soundtracks.
This is a classic case of I have the original on vinyl, but this packaging is something I feel the need to put my hands on.

"Forget about holding her hand, man. Think about the damage he could do to other places."
This special anniversary album features 180 gram "Ice Sculpture Blue with Snow Splatter" colored vinyl. Ridiculously awesome. Original was black, 30 years ago.

Give a listen on Spotify:
Oh to be satisfied with the original or splurge on this wonderful edition?!?!?!
Cheers,
FOE UTNG
